Join Us?

New members are always welcome to come and give us a try. We will give you a warm welcome and hope that after a few weeks of trying us out you will want to join. We are particularly looking for tenors and bass singers.

We meet weekly from September to June to practise for forthcoming concerts. Practices are lively and interesting - we sing hard but enjoy ourselves at the same time.

The Choral Society attracts a mixed age group who enjoy listening and learning about music and voice production, the team work and the physical exercise of singing using all the right muscles!

Our fees are currently £90.00 p.a. payable in full or in installments up to Christmas. For those joining later in the year a pro rata arrangement is made.

We meet at the United Reformed Church, Trinity Court (Kings Road), Halstead for two hours on Monday evenings at 7.30pm - 9.30pm with a short refreshment break in the middle.

Halstead is a small market town of some 11,053 people situated in Essex, 5 miles from the Suffolk border. Its wide elevated High Street boasts a market on 2 days a week and has an interesting variety of shops, pubs, cafes and business. A 14th Century, St Andrew's, Church dominates the High Street and it is where the majority of our concerts are performed.
